Thanks to the Mining Treasures of Central Slovakia pilot project, mining sites are now accessible through an interactive platform and digital map.
Adopting a participatory approach, this initiative not only enhances current tourism offerings but also disperses tourists, particularly those from urban areas, across a wider region. The platform showcases both well-known and lesser-known mining locations, often overlooked due to inadequate promotion by tourist information centres, tourism organisations, and travel agencies.
"Mining Treasures of Central Slovakia" platform was officially launched in December 2022. It currently features 250 activities across nine categories. An English version has been available since April 2023, expanding its reach to international visitors.
