The Banská Bystrica Music Spring Festival is the first spring festival of "serious music".

Every year, several top Slovak and foreign performers perform at the festival. Currently, the main organiser of the event is the city of Banská Bystrica. The goal of the event is the revival of serious music in the region of Central Slovakia, with the intention of gradually expanding the offer, either from a larger number of performers or the number of concerts. At the festival, even young performers who are just starting their career as musicians have an opportunity. The festival is always held in the spring, and several concerts will take place during the spring months. Concerts are held in various places, such as in Robotnícký dom, on the Square of the Slovak National Uprising, in the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.
