Activity information

Imperial aditl belongs to the oldest mining structures in Špania Dolina

The entrance to this adit is located about 20 meters behind the Knocker. The Imperial adit was one of the entrance adits to the mining area. In the morning, the miners prayed in front of it and then went to the individual shafts. In July 1764, the sons of Empress Maria Theresa, Crown Prince Jozef, with his brother Archduke Leopold and Duke Albert of Tesin visited Špania Dolina. Accompanied by miners, they entered the underground and left in Staré Hory. The journey took them 45 minutes and was 960 meters long.
