The cultural summer in Banská Bystrica regularly brings a rich programme and several accompanying events every year from June to September.

Musicians, artists and dancers from Banská Bystrica provide a pleasant atmosphere in the streets of the city. Visitors to the city can enjoy various cultural and sports events, theatre performances, open-air film screenings, music concerts, and festivals. The programme is diverse and caters to all age categories and lovers of various musical and artistic genres. The visitor can choose from a wide range of concerts, theatres for children, and also tours of the city or churches. The offer also includes experiential night tours with the Vir Fortis fencing group. In 2022, approximately 46 events, performances, or screenings were held as part of the cultural summer. The cultural summer is opened annually by the days of the city of Banská Bystrica. As part of the cultural summer, Sídliské večerníčky is shown for the little ones in July and August. Promenade concerts are traditionally held in the city park, in the Robotník dom people can participate in creative workshops, enjoy film melodies in the open air performed by the Movie Quartet. In the courtyard of the Workers' House, you can listen to poems by Slovak poets and others.
