The Ferdinand shaft was created around 1400 and reached a depth of 295 meters.
The total length of the corridors with which it was connected was up to 4050 meters long. The shaft was mined until the end of the 20th century. The Ferdinand shaft is located right on the Špania Dolina square, and the stone foundations and remains of this shaft, which belonged to one of the most important and at the same time the most famous shafts in the Špania Dolina, can still be seen today.
