Below the intersection of roads in the Červená studňa saddle, going towards the village of Vyhne, on the left side of the road is the flooded mouth of the Ján Jozef shaft, overall the westernmost shaft of the eastern part of the Štiavnica ore deposit.
The Ján Jozef shaft was excavated probably at the beginning of the 19th century, up to the level of the Michal heritage adit. The reason for its launch was to ensure the ventilation of the Michal mine field. Currently, a crater filled with water has been created in the place of its shelter, creating the impression that it is a water reservoir (tajch). To the north, toward the slope, there is still the original shaft dump, partially creating a natural barrier for water outflow, similar to a lake dam, while the soil under this dump is waterlogged almost all year round due to seepage.
