Anyone who is a fan of events accompanied by a gastronomic experience will really enjoy the Plum Parade. The Plum Parade is an event made for a family afternoon, and also connected with goodies, the main role of which is played by the plum.

Špania Dolina is characterised by mining, lace, but also good food. During the Plum Parade event, visitors can taste various delicacies. The most important dish is the jam, which is cooked in a traditional way during the event.

According to the locals, plum jam was once cooked on an open fire in a cauldron all day, sometimes even two days and two nights, to make it so stiff that it could be cut. No sugar is added, so it is not only tasty, but also healthy.

Other accompanying events this afternoon consist of a plum button-eating competition, while a competition for the biggest plum is taking place. The entire event is accompanied by a cultural programme, mainly folk music and dance. Creative workshops are prepared for children.
