The Jozef Kollár Gallery is a gallery that collects, processes, and makes accessible works of visual art from the 13th century to the present day.
In its collections and exhibitions, it is possible to find rare works dealing with mining activity, which testify to the historical, cultural and socio-economic importance of the Banská Štiavnice region. In accordance with the current profile of the Slovak Mining Museum as a green institution, a new part of the Jozef Kollár Gallery´s program focus will be the presentation of works of art reflecting topics such as global climate change, nature protection, ecologically sustainable functioning of man in the country, etc. The Jozef Kollár Gallery also cooperates with contemporary visual artists and presents their work to the public through individual author and group exhibitions, curatorial projects, interventions in existing collections, outdoor exhibitions, etc. The Jozef Kollár Gallery effectively and creatively uses its art history fund, as well as current exhibitions, to implement educational events for schools and also for the professional and lay public.
