The most extensive exposition in the town of Banská Štiavnica is not only about mining technology.
Mining itself - extraction of raw materials begins with the discovery of a deposit, geological survey, various work tools are used, mining maps, lamps, and means of transport are needed. Underground water often has to be removed to work there. Humans use pumping equipment, and energy (horse power, water, compressed air, electricity) is needed to drive them as well as to drive other equipment used in the extraction and processing of raw materials. These complex and simpler activities, which mining work represents, are presented in the exposition from the oldest archaeological finds to the 20th century. It is ideal to visit this exhibition before the visitor decides to look underground in the Glanzenberg adit or in the Bartolomej adit in the Mining Museum in Nature.
