The Copper museum is located in the municipal office building in Špania Dolina. The exhibition was prepared by the Herrengrund Mining Brotherhood, whose mission is to restore and develop the tradition of mining customs, collect, restore, and preserve monuments of mining activity in the region.
The exhibition contains a complete collection of minerals from local deposits and visitors can learn a lot about the history of copper mining and ore processing. The visitor will learn what copper cementation is, how the rare green color was produced, and also how and where copper from the Špania Dolina traveled from the Bronze Age to the end of the 19th century. The museum's exposition is complemented by a computer animation of the work of the water traction machine in the Ludovika shaft.
The visitor can also take away a beautiful souvenir from the museum – a hand-struck replica of the Herrengrunder coin from 1739.
