National cultural monument declared in 1955
Below the Square of the Slovak National Uprising in Banská Bystrica is the Dolná Street, which, like the Square of the Slovak National Uprising, is surrounded by historic colorful houses. One of them is the Renaissance town house no. 15, which has been a national cultural monument since 1955. The history of this Renaissance house dates back to the first half of the 17th century. Its modifications were subsequently carried out in the middle of the 17th century.
The fact that this house is really from the Renaissance period can also be recognised thanks to the rectangular windows, which are flanked by arched extensions, which are a symbol of the Renaissance period. The same applies to the acanthus leaves that can be seen throughout the entire building under the roof. Arched doors are another sign of this period.
