Beniczky House stands as one of the most beautiful edifices situated in the historical centre of Banská Bystrica.
Originally constructed in the 15th century, it acquired its present form in 1660 through the amalgamation of two Gothic buildings and subsequent renovations. A distinctive open arcaded loggia with six arches was added at the entrance to the Mazhaus, making it the sole example of its kind in Slovakia. Inside, lunette vaults adorned with heart palmettes and other intricate designs enhance the interior. Of particular interest is the Renaissance portal featuring an inscription and the coat of arms of the Szentyvany family, held by two miners dressed in ceremonial uniform. The building derives its name from sub-prefect Tomáš Beniczky of Mičina, its owner in 1660. Presently, the Beniczky House accommodates a restaurant.
